The marriage between Netra Mantena (daughter of a renowned producer Ravi Mantena) and Vamsi Gadiraju has become a nationwide topic. The mega three days festivity was held in Udaipur, Rajasthan and it is said that the overall bill amounted to an almost unbelievable 100 million US dollar that is over 830 crore in rupees!
The wedding was a bigger than life affair. The couple has reserved five luxury palace hotels the Oberoi Udaivilas, Taj Lake Palace, Leela Palace, Raffles Udaivilas and the City Palace itself to conduct personal parties. More than 1,500 guests flew in India, USA, London and Dubai and Singapore. There were a lot of private planes and helicopters.
The decorations were dreamy. The fresh roses and orchids, in lakhs, were being flown in daily, in Thailand, Holland, and Ecuador. The cost of a mandap alone was ₹18 crore and consumed 300,000 roses in one evening. Lighting was carried out by a renowned London company which also provides lighting in the Buckingham Palace events.
Another major attraction was food. The best Italian, Japanese, Thai, Lebanese and Indian chefs offered a variety of 200 dishes. Visitors indulged in 24-karat gold-plated desserts, rare saffron biryani and sushi which was brought in fresh every morning. There existed a special ice-cream stand where 150 flavours were available with one of them being prepared using diamonds dust which was real.
The music and entertainment had no one to speak. The concerts were one night (charge around 80 crore) by Coldplay, and then Karan Aujali, AP Dhillon, Diljit Dosanjh and international DJs. Rihanna is said to have come to the sangeet without warning. Fireworks of 25 crores were used and the fireworks lasted 40 minutes continuously over Lake Pichola.
The outfits of Netra were designed by the best designers. Her principal lehenga is a Sabyasachi which contained real gold zari and took 9 months to be done- cost 12 crore. Over three days, she switched to 18 other outfits by Manish Malhotra, Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla and the global brands like Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad.
Gifts were crazy too. All its guests were given a luxury watch, designer bags and silver coins which had a limited edition. Close family members were given gifts of brand new luxury cars parked outside the venue as return gifts.
The wedding was concluded by the magical procession of the boat with 200 decorated boats on Lake Pichola and the final drone show that painted the names and hearts of the couple in the sky.
Individuals in social media are terming it as the most expensive wedding in India ever and it is being said that it has outdone even the Ambani weddings in size and style. Photos and videos are being shared round the clock, and all people were discussing how beautiful and excessive the whole celebration was.
