Two full seasons of players being shuffled amongst a large painted table at HBO. We would see them get into fights in dark rooms. We saw them dispatching ravens to those we scarcely could remember. Folks were truly beginning to grow weary of all the niceness. The audience demanded fire

The final trailer for the third season just dropped. It’s the definitive end to all talk.

The network is no longer a game. Season three will be released June 21. In India they are rolling out it in full Hindi dubbing from the day one. You don’t need to wait a week for the localized versions to be available on streaming servers. The region’s platforms are prepared for the traffic.

The movie is extremely fat. It has a very real and physical appeal. It’s back with Emma D’Arcy reprising her character as Rhaenyra Targaryen. She’s not the queasy one from early on, who sought to resolve any conflict at the last moment. Her mission is accomplished, she no longer has to try to prevent a bloodbath. She will go to King’s Landing to take the Iron Throne, physically. Her bid for control is proceeding at an unabated pace.

But it’s always the easy part of taking a warrior’s chair, which is made of swords. What kills you is to keep it.

The trailer gives Olivia Cooke the most dialogue. Alicent Hightower gives her former best friend a hard pass. She says to Rhaenyra the crown is a burden and it crushes. She tells her that she will make them all perish, too. It definitely paves the way for a moody and claustrophobic new season.

The Ocean Catches Fire

The showrunners realized they needed a big pay-off. Last year they were running on a red rag thin. Now they’re apparently starting the season off in complete disarray

It’s being run by Ryan Condal. He recently had an interview and hyped up the season episode. It was, he said, “arguably the craziest TV episode ever.” That’s a pretty bold statement in the wake of Game of Thrones. However, the trailer footage rather supports him. Finally they’re giving us the Battle of the Gullet.

If you haven’t read George R.R. Martin’s book, all you need to know is that this is one of the most deadly naval battles in the fictional history of Westeros. Some of the trailers depict huge convoys smoldering or burning. Water boiling. Ships on fire, being torn apart by dragons.

We have a few brief looks at the younger generation throwing themselves into the meat grinder. The picture shows a face looking down at a boat named “Moondancer” as if it is about to dive into it. Jacaerys Velaryon is flying Vermax, which is distinctly over the burning water. It sure sounds like a lot of money. Most significantly, it appears it will actually be painful to watch.

A Symmetrical Slaughter

The internet instantly began tearing the trailer to shreds frame by frame. The audience is hoping for any scraps of information about who’s going to survive the blood feud upcoming. However, the marketing team was clever. Not deaths, but large scale devastation.

Matt Smith is back brooding as Daemon Targaryen. He slips in a very cynical line about why in a war everybody suffers. At this stage, he’s sort of the poster boy for collateral damage. The trailer offers a few tantalizing views of the new dragonseeds, guys like Hugh Hammer, getting ready for the hunt. Instead of armies of the Riverlands just camped in the mud complaining about the weather, we now see them marching.

There’s this giant guy, too. Aemond Targaryen arrives at Harrenhal, fully armored.

This particular shot already has the internet on its frenzied frenzy. Harrenhal is a place known to all who knows its lore. The fans are dying to see the iconic Battle Above the God’s Eye. That big air battle between Daemon and Aemond on Caraxes and Vhagar is their favourite. The trailer reveals that Vhagar is destroying entire landscapes! It strongly suggests this impending collision. We’re not sure if it will occur this season, or if they’ll make it a season four thing, but these visual breadcrumbs are in place

The Cost of the Crown

The fans created a lot of noise on X all morning about the trailer. The Team Black fans have invaded the Twitter timelines with screenshots. Even the most ardent fans are admitting that they’re preparing for a bad time, emotionally. It’s not a story in which good triumphs evil. This is a tale of people losing pieces of their soul

The eight episode run will begin in late June. The Hindi dubbing will be released at the same time, in order to target the tier two and tier three markets in India. Language problems are common in more remote regions of the country in fantasy shows. The streaming numbers go through a change of form when a localized copy of a high budget game drops on the first day.

Season 2 concluded with King Aegon running from the capital. He bequeathed a huge power vacuum. In season 3, it is the bloody competition to take up this empty space. Rhaenyra insists she believes she can conquer the city with “little blood. That idea would be ridiculed by the trailer. Already there’s smear campaigns going around in the dirty streets of King’s Landing to make her seem like an unfit monster.

The pieces are now in play! The dragons are now large. There’s silverwing, Syrax, Vermithor and Caraxes all in the air. After all, it has been a long time already. The Targaryen family is on the verge of torching their own home, and the world will be able to watch it do the deed in eight weekly episodes.
