Bollywood actress, Ayesha Khan, arrested from Mumbai protest; detained for hours Ayesha Khan, famous for featuring in the song from the movie Dhurandhar, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for gathering with students at a protest connected with the ongoing NEET examination paper leak demonstrations. As police moved into the crowd assembled near Dadar and dispersed the groups supporting the protest, launched by the Cockroach Janata Party, to support the student-demonstrations, the actress was detained and let off about 3 hours later, late at night. Her brother and friends have also been taken to separate police station locations including Rafi Ahmed Kidwai police station with transport to various city locations.

Video from inside Police Car Shows Incident A few minute-long clips uploaded to Instagram from inside the Police van clearly show the moments when Khan was apprehended.

She also repeatedly asks women police officers: “We haven’t chanted any slogans. We haven’t held any banners and we haven’t begun any demonstrations but why have you dragged me from here?

Claims to have been taken without being Part of Protest: Statement According to Ayesha Khan’s statement recorded at Worli Police station, on Monday evening she had reached the Dadar protest area only at around 4 p.m. To extend solidarity with students protesting for a probe against examination board officials. Bollywood members join protests After her arrest the 27 year old eventually made her way to be with family and went for brother and his friends who were also arrested to get him out of Police lock up, as many in the Bollywood fraternity including, National Award Winner,Ratna Pathak Shah and actor, Prakash Raj, have publicly extended their support to the agitating students.
