Content creator Apoorva Mukhija, who goes by the stage name The Rebel Kid, broke down during a reunion with fellow creator Sufi Motiwala as she revealed that she almost lost her life.

“India’s Got Latent” controversy Last year was tough for Apoorva as she was under fire for comments made by a contestant on Samay Raina’s comedy show.
Speaking about how the controversy took a heavy toll on her mental health, Apoorva shared, “If the Latent fiasco happened and Sufi hadn’t been there at the time… I probably would’ve ended myself”. Elated and overwhelmed at being reunited with her friend, Apoorva expressed the extreme difficulty she went through after being the target of hate speech and threats. She’d also revealed that she was not in a relationship and did not have any substantial support system at the time to help her overcome the situation.
Sufi Motiwala’s support The duo, who was separated on the show as different factions, expressed their remorse for the misunderstandings and feuds that strained their friendship at a time when Apoorva needed him the most.
Sufi told his friend that he was also fortunate to meet her during that period. ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy The controversy happened when on the comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent in January this year, a contestant had made objectionable remarks about Apoorva, following which she responded with anger that spiralled into a political issue and a large-scale attack against her, including reports of four to five FIRs registered against them, and a huge amount of public anger directed at them. While Apoorva had deleted all her posts from her social media account in March to protect herself from vicious attacks and trolls on her pages.
“I’m not writing anything from myself but from my friend because after this much of outrage there is no point of hiding anything but yes there is one regret which is that after all this hate I thought maybe that in the future in someone else’s life if I was unable to stop myself I might kill myself. I didn’t know how to take it,” she wrote in March 2025, after making a social media comeback in April 2025.
