Ajay Devgn, known for his choosy film selection, candidly told an interviewer that he had erred in taking Azaad. The movie held much promise at the outset and initially looked like a grand historical drama but, because of a lack of budgetary provisions, hasty filming, and creative differences, could not shine properly. Devgn claimed that during the shooting of the film, he felt it was going wrong, as the producers and directors didn’t do much to give quality work. Such problems that highlighted with low production values and low box office performance created many discussions in the industry regarding the quality control. Devgn assured that he will be doing good projects and also the stress for quality was increased and not on the number of releases.
