Sabiha suggested that I should go to Jantar Mantar and explain the correct path to the cockroaches gathered there.
I replied by quoting a doha ( couplet ) of the great poet Tulsidas from his epic Ramcharitmanas :
” Moorakh hriday na chet, jo guru milahin biranch sam
Phoolahin phalahin na beynt, jadpi sudha barsahi jalad ”
i.e.
A bamboo never bears flowers or fruit, even if nectar rains from the clouds
Similarly, a fool can never become wise, even if the Creator Lord Brahma himself becomes his teacher.
मूरख ह्रदय न चेत, जो गुरु मिलहिं विरंचि सम।
फूलहिं फलहिं न बेंत, जदपि सुधा बरसहिं जलधि
अर्थात
बांस में कभी फल फूल नहीं निकलते, भले ही बादलों से अमृत वर्षा ही क्यों न हो
उसी तरह मूर्ख को कभी अक़्ल नहीं आ सकती , चाहे स्वयं विधाता ब्रम्हा उसके गुरु बन जाएं
Similarly, the great American writer Mark Twain said :

There is a well known expression in Hindi ” Bhains ke aage been bajaana ” ( playing a flute before a buffalo ), which means making an effort in vain.

So I told Sabiha that I have no intention to go to Jantar Mantar and waste my time talking to these buffoons and dimwits
