How MBBS Fails Graduates with Low Pay and Costly Colleges
Seeking an MBBS degree in India is no more fulfilling than it formerly was. Many graduates find it difficult to land steady employment given restricted government job openings in private hospitals, meager pay in private hospitals, and outrageous cost of private medical colleges. Studying overseas presents more difficulties including the demanding FMGE test and lengthy waiting times before one may begin practice. Comparatively to other professions, the rigorous 8–10 years of medical study yield less financial benefit. For most Indian students today, MBBS is becoming an unworkable career path without significant changes in employment availability, wages, and working conditions.
