HP to End Partnership with Victus Following Gaming Laptop Quality Concerns

HP is reportedly discontinuing its Victus gaming laptop series, largely due to widespread quality issues and a decline in sales. The Victus line was introduced in 2021 as a mid-tier gaming option but had quickly come under fire for the prevalence of plastic, inadequate thermal management, and below-average display quality. These weaknesses along with excessive competition and confused markets by HP’s Pavilion and Omen lines together led sales to plummet rapidly from 1.2 million units sold in 2021 down to 0.5 million in 2023. Ending the Victus would allow HP to streamline and focus on only successful lines while underpinning key performance and quality factors.
