The dispute between Canada and India over the murder of a Sikh, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was a Canadian citizen, has heated up, wiith Canada expelling 6 Indian diplomats from Canada ( after first declaring them ‘persons of Interest’, and asking India to withdraw their diplomatic immunity so that they may be interrogated by the Canadian police ), and India reciprocating by expelling 6 Canadian diplomats from India

The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in Parliament that Canadian authorities had credible information of the involvement of Indian government officials in the murder of Nijjar, but the Indian government dismissed the allegation as absurd and preposterous, and motivated by the desire of Trudeau to get the Sikh vote in the forthcoming Canadian Parliamentary elections.

The Canadians have even alleged that they have evidence that India’s Home Minister Amit Shah authorised the murder
This allegation was reported in the renowned American newspaper The Washington Post, and has created a furore
The USA, UK, Australia, and New Zealand have asked India to cooperate in the investigation into the matter, but the Indian government has refused.
I was interviewed by the eminent journalist Neelu Vyas inter ailia on this topic ( see from 19 minutes 40 seconds and onwards in this interview, given below ), and my response was that if the Indian government, including Mr Amit Shah, have nothing to hide, and their conscience is clear ( daaman saaf hai ) they should agree to an investigation, instead of being dismissive of the whole issue. After all, what is wrong with an investigation ? Sab doodh ka doodh aur paani ka paani ho jayega ( i.e.every thing will be clarified )
But the investigation should be by a reputed neutral international organisation known for its integrity and uprightness, like the International Court of Justice, or a neutral, impartial body appointed by the United Nations.
This is the mature, responsible way of dealng with the issue, unless the Indian government has ‘kuch daal mein kaala ‘ ( i.e. something to hide ).
Indo-Canadian trade is huge, and this will suffer greatly to India’s detriment, unless the issue is resolved quickly, and our prestige in the world community will suffer greatly too.
From the news and knowing the penchant of Modi for “Gar mein Gus kar Mara”.. it looks that the trio have gone overboard! There is/was no need for any such action/adventurism since nobody really cares for Khalistanis, either in India or abroad.
The matter is serious, especially with USA judge issuing arrest warrants. Judges in USA are NOT Godi!
