iPhone 17 will launch Without SIM Slot Forcing Indian Users to Adopt eSIM
Apple has announced that debuting in September 2025, the iPhone 17 series will remove the conventional SIM slot worldwide, including in India, hence consumers will have to use eSIM technology. Citing improved security and design advantages, this action aligns with Apple’s U.S. shift with the iPhone 14 in 2022 ESIM is already supported by Indian carriers including Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vi; a successful pilot run in Bengaluru shown preparedness. Although urban adoption increased by 15% in 2024, insufficient infrastructure could cause problems for rural consumers. With a 6.7-inch screen and A19 CPU, the iPhone 17 will depend just on digital SIM activation.
