Trump stopping foreign aid will be a blessing in disguise for India

US President Donald Trump has issued an order freezing all foreign aid, which would include aid to India
In my opinion this will be good for India, as it will force us to become self reliant, instead of behaving like beggars even 77 years after Independence. Only people will no self respect keep asking for aid.
And such ‘aid’ is not really genuine aid, as it comes with a lot of strings attached, which makes the recipient country even more dependant on the donor, who then treats it like a colony, grabbing its markets and raw materials.
India is a country with great potential of becoming a mighty industrial giant with our huge pool of engineers and scientists, and immense natural resources. How long should we keep asking for aid ? Have we no self respect ?
When the Soviet Union under Khrushchev withdrew its scientists from China in 1960 and even took back the technical prints it was in fact a blessing in disguise for the latter, as it forced the Chinese to become self reliant
So President Trump’s order stopping aid to India ( among other countries) will be a blessing in disguise for us.
India will rise again in the comity of nations if we become totally self reliant, like China, and not remain dependant on foreign aid, which, as pointed out above, is no aid at all, but a subtle and indirect form of exploitation
