Kartik Aaryan is to play the role of Rooh Baba again in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Shoot will start sometime in 2026. Plot is being finalised and it’s said that Akshay Kumar may make an appearance in the film; he had been the central character in the first release of 2007. There was no Akshay Kumar in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which was too pricey to be acquired, which saw Kartik give a fresh breathing life to this franchise that originally started as a psychological thriller before it became horror-comedy. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 turned out to be a commercial success as it collected more than INR 266 crore worldwide. It would be generating massive nostalgia and expectation if Akshay Kumar reprises in the third installment.
