We are told that we became free in 1947. But real freedom is freedom from poverty, unemployment, hunger, ignorance, lack of healthcare, and the other huge socio-economic evils which have plagued us for centuries. Are we free from them today ? Not at all.

Today, even 79 years after our so called Independence, there is massive poverty, record and rising unemployment, appalling level of child malnutrition ( every second Indian child is malnourished, according to Global Hunger Index, and the position has got worse in recent years, India slipping from position number 101 to 107 out of 125 countries surveyed ), skyrocketing prices of essential commodities like food, fuel, medicines, etc, almost total lack of proper healthcare and good education for our masses, feudal practices and mindsets like casteism and communalism are still widespread, with discrimination and atrocities on minorities, dalits, etc, 78 % of our women are anaemic. So where is the real independence ? There is none. White skinned rulers and tyrants were only replaced by brown skinned ones in 1947.

It is said that the Indian people now have fundamental rights like freedom of speech, liberty, etc guaranteed by the Constitution of 1950. But what do these ‘freedoms’ mean to a person who is poor, hungry, or unemployed ? He needs food and a job, not abstract rights like freedom of speech, liberty etc.

Some people claim that India is progressing, that we have the fastest growing economy and highest GDP growth, that we have become the fourth largest economy in the world, that we have economically surpassed Japan, and will soon surpass Germany, etc etc. These are all lies, as explained in my articles below :

We can never get rid of our huge socio-economic evils until and unless we transform India into a modern industrial giant, for it is only massive and widespread industrialization which can generate the wealth which will be required for the welfare of our people.

How to make this historical transformation of India into a modern industrial giant, is the vital and fundamental question before all patriotic people.

I have expressed my own opinion on this subject in a series of articles and videos, given below, and I am not repeating their contents, except to say that this transformation can only be achieved by a mighty united protracted people’s struggle ( jan sangharsh ), rising above caste, communal, lingual and racial barriers, lasting perhaps 10-20 years, led by patriotic modern minded leaders, in which tremendous sacrifices will have to be made, culminating in a historical people’s revolution ( jan kranti ), after which a political and social order will be created under which there is rapid industrialization, and steady rise in the standard of living of the people

As I said above, the transformation of India into a modern industrial giant can only be after a mighty people’s struggle ( jan sangharsh ) culminating in a historical people’s revolution ( jan kranti ).

But this jan sangharsh and jan kranti are only possible if the people are united, rising above caste, religion, race and lingual divisions. So securing unity among Indians, and combating the nefarious elements which seek to polarise society and incite caste, communal, or racial hatred among us, is of paramount importance
