As per the recent unconfirmed news, the final compensation could be around Rs 15 crore (lade USD 2.5 million). Some of the industry people said that the actor returned its first cost immediately as well. Firstly the smaller offer was rejected by the production house who refused to budge from their higher demand.
A Proposed Payment cut for the Future
The attempts to settle the issue down did not end there with just one cash offer. Ranveer claimed several trade sources that he offered a long term compomise to keep the relationship intact with the producers. According to his settlement agreement, he was supposed to receive a 25 percent cut in his standard salary for any Excel Entertainment project going forward. Both have had a successful partnership before, most notably on the mega-hit Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy. That was definitely a professional bridge the actor wished to keep up.

It heightened once the trade organizations joined in the fight. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees was quick to react. Yet they let down Ranveer Singh – within the framework of a non-cooperation directive in the wake of the producers approaching them with their grievances. They believed the issue should have been a strictly economic one, not one to be solved through strikes or lock-outs by members of a trade union. This legal tide backed up. The organization later withdrew the non-cooperation order, thus reducing the pressure on the actor’s working schedule for the day.
Veteran Voices Defend the Actor
Members of the film industry were not happy with the way things were going in the film. A senior actor and a bunch of leaders of the union, Poonam Dhillon, had openly voiced their backing for Ranveer. She expressed publicly her opinion about the earlier ban as strange and utterly unnecessary. In an interview with the media, she commend the actor for his “good efforts” at “assisting with the financial burden. She said that actors just desert, even giving no single rupee for any compensation. Willingness to re-pay the signing was something that impressed her as if very professional.
Actors need to be able to safeguard their artistic interests, Dhillon said. Sometimes, it would be wise for a lead actor to remove themselves from the script, if they feel uncomfortable. She believes that actors have a responsibility to be engaged in creatively making choices that will make the end product better. Meanwhile, she warned stars to make such challenging choices in the early stages of production to avoid extensive financial losses for the producer. The lead actor is the person who would be seen as the face of this film and if the film fails, the person (lead actor) would receive the hail of the failure.
The Root Cause of the Walkout
As much as the financial terms of the split are talked about, the actual conditions of the departure are discussed as well. Early reports said there were “significant creative differences” between the director and the producer, which prompted Ranveer to walk away. He was apparently very intense provided with some worries on the final version of the script. Other sources also alleged that there was no ongoing creative wrangling up to the actual shooting of the film. Some buzz in the industry even claimed the film’s overall bank balance to have been sorely depleted, thus his acting charges took a hit as well.

The fate of this is being closely followed by other leading actors in the Hindi film industry. The entire episode was discussed by the producer Vipul Shah recently in a film launch event.
