Shah Rukh Khan has once again set a new benchmark for himself. This time in the field of music of his upcoming film King. The first song of the film – Tu Mil Jaaye from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone- has received a fantastic response on digital media. The romantic number garnered more than 36.3 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours.

The song was released on November 2, on the occasion of Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st birthday. International pop singer Ed Sheeran’s song has become one of the biggest talking points of the song.
Reports say the track accumulated over 60 million views on various digital platforms in its first 24 hours and garnered more than 430,000 Likes on YouTube. As per reported numbers, it is the most-viewed Indian film song on YouTube within its first 24 hours.
‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ Eclipses Shah Rukh Khan’s Old Record
It is worth noting that even the previous record for the biggest YouTube opening (24 hour) by an Indian film song was that of SRK.
His song ‘Zinda Banda’ from the 2023 film Jawan had garnered over 34.6 million views within 24 hours. ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ has crossed that mark already with 36.3 million views.
It has also blown away the opening numbers of other Indian film songs that were reported.
The song ‘Gujju Pataka’ from Satyaprem Ki Katha had garnered approximately 34 million views and the songs of Adipurush – ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Ram Siya Ram’ was seen 32.2 million and 32.1 million times respectively. ‘Sikandar Naache’ song from Sikandar had approximately 31.9 million views.
The below numbers also put Shah Rukh’s new song in the top tier for first-day Bollywood YouTube views.
Ed Sheeran Makes His Bollywood Singing Debut
Getting Ed Sheeran on board adds an international flavor. The British singer has given a rap part for ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’, which is his first with a Hindi film song.
Recently, he also shared how the song was born. In his last trip to India, the singer had filmed a cameo for his clip video ‘Sapphire’ at the home of Shah Rukh Khan, Mannat, along with Arijit Singh.
Shah Rukh took him to music duo Sachin-Jigar at that visit. Sheeran revealed that he recorded and wrote his part of ‘Tu Mil Jaye’ that very same night.
He added that he was happy to be working with Arijit Singh and said that it was a project he was working on with some of his favourite people.
Khan even took to his social media to thank the international singer. Sharing Ed Sheeran’s video, the actor congratulated him for the song, especially the Hindi bits of it. He even expressed his love for Ed and called him a ‘friend’ in the post.
Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi Lend Their Voices
The song also includes singing by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi along with Ed Sheeran. Sachin-Jigar has composed the music and Kumaar has written the lyrics.
Another voice, yet so familiar, joins the romantic song Arijit Singh has contributed another familiar voice to the romantic song. Arijit Singh has sung a few hit songs with Shah Rukh Khan in the past, including ‘Chaleya’ from Jawan.

Another attraction of ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ is Deepika Padukone Shah Rukh Khan’s reunion.
