In stark contrast to the jubilant scenes in Mumbai, the situation in Manipur remains dire, with ongoing violence and unrest. Social media users condemned the public’s enthusiasm for the victory parade, suggesting that if even 10% of the crowd had taken action in Manipur, the violence could have been mitigated. Fans packed the streets to see their cricket heroes, cheering with slogans like ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. However, the large crowd caused significant inconvenience. One woman fainted due to suffocation, and a policeman had to carry her away from the dense crowd.
Witnesses reported that fans climbed onto car roofs to dance, causing damage. Many people lost their belongings, including slippers, headphones, water bottles, and even mobile phones and handbags.
The parade caused severe traffic jams in South Mumbai. The police had to stop vehicles from moving towards Marine Drive, leading to chaos on alternative routes. Announcements were made to deter more people from heading to the already packed area.

Another victim, Rishab Mahesh Yadav, fell unconscious during the parade due to the overwhelming crowd. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later stated that the crowd was excessive and mismanaged, with the police failing to remain alert.
