A recent research indicates fast food, in general from chains like McDonald’s and Domino’s increases the odds of heart attacks by 5% in India. The standards are relatively safer in the USA. The ingredient quality, preparation, and standards of regulations do create that difference. Very commonly fast foods in India have used trans fats, sodium, and artificial preservatives. These are contributing to cardiovascular diseases. Although the USA has stronger standards, India’s weak standard of regulations exposes consumers to health hazards. The study seeks stringent regulations, consumer education, and promotion of healthy and traditional Indian cuisines that reduce these risks.
