In districts like Ramganj and other Muslim-majority neighborhoods like Eidgah and Subhash Chowk in Jaipur, reports suggest that some allegedly harass and coerce Hindu residents to sell their properties. Claimed intimidation, social pressures, and rising communal tension are said to be resulting in an exodus among these Hindu residents. These moves are said to be concomitant with demographic alterations of sizeable population growth among the Muslims and a corresponding erosion of Hindu residents in the areas. This article explores the root causes, including socio-economic factors and governance challenges, while suggesting solutions such as better law enforcement, property regulation, and interfaith dialogue to overcome the polarization and bring about inclusivity.
