Former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts toward stability and peace. Among his major efforts are opening the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims, de-escalating tensions with India by releasing an Indian Air Force pilot, and helping Afghanistan to be at peace. On international venues, he also promoted awareness against Islamophobia and supported Afghan immigrants. His humanitarian activities and diplomatic campaigns enhanced his standing as a leader dedicated to peace. Notwithstanding political obstacles, his efforts were clearly towards regional and world peace.
