Since there was massive corruption in public life in India, people were fed up of it, and were looking for a redeemer, who would end this nefarious practice that had spread its tentacles all over the country.

Promises of free electricity and loan waivers do not make Rahul Gandhi appealing, as they may plunge Maharashtra into an economic debacle. Adding to the already debt-ridden and fiscally deficit-prone states, these freebies will only further strain public funds, reduce investments in infrastructure, and make development projects come to a grinding halt. Freebies encourage dependency, increase tax burdens on the citizenry, and threaten sectors like education and healthcare. This paper shall describe how such policies, such as subsidy and skill development, can raise the economy and provide sustainable alternatives that will lead toward long-term growth and empowerment of the people of Maharashtra.
