Emphasizing how their acts have escalated the conflict, the paper investigates the positions of Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Elon Musk in the Russia-Ukraine war. Though Putin is the main aggressor, Trump’s suspension of intelligence-sharing with Ukraine and his covert contacts with Putin have undermined Ukraine’s defense. Likewise, Musk’s meddling with Starlink satellite communications interfered with Ukraine’s military activities, therefore helping Russia. These choices have extended the war and helped to explain the death toll among Ukrainians. With the International Criminal Court looking into possible culpability in war crimes under international law, the paper advocates responsibility.
