The fight against injustice to contract teachers in Colleges in J&K
By Justice Katju
This morning I contacted Mr Vivek Tankha, Member of Parliament, and acquainted him with the great injustice to contractual teachers in Colleges in J&K. I also mailed him this link of an article I wrote giving some details of the problem :

Vivek is a Kashmiri like me ( in fact we are related ) and we both try to help Kashmiris e.g. during covid when we helped Kashmiri students stranded in several cities in India to get home.
Vivek agreed to help the contract teachers in every way. Presently Parliament is not in session, otherwise he would have raised the matter in the House. So he said he will immediately write letters to the Union Minister concerned as well as to the Governor of J&K.
Those who wish to contact Vivek Tankha may email him on vivek.tankha@gmail.com, and give him any suggestion.
In the meantime I suggest the teachers concerned get organised. They should set up an organisation, with a President, several Vice Presidents, a Gen Secy, several Jt Secretaries, etc. Vivek and I can be the patrons. Forming such an organisation is necessary as a long struggle may be required before getting success.
Publicity in the media is also necessary, so the teachers concerned should approach the editors of all the local newspapers of Kashmir for this purpose
