The truth about Pakistan is that it it is a fake, artificial entity ( I refuse to call it a country ) created by a British swindle in 1947, on the basis of the bogus two nation theory.( that Hindus and Muslims are two separate nations).
India and Pakistan ( and Bangladesh ) are really one country, sharing the same culture, and were one for 500 years since Mughal times. We are bound to reunite under a secular government, led by patriotic, modern minded, selfless leaders, but it will take time, and require a mighty people”s struggle to achieve that objective ( as there are powerful forces which will oppose Indian reunification tooth and nail ).
It was a typical technique of the British that when they left a colony they would first partition it ( usually on religious lines) before quitting it, e, g. Ireland ( divided between Roman Catholic south and Protestant north), Palestine,( divided between Jewish Israel and Palestinian Muslim Arabs ) Cyprus ( divided between Christian Greeks and Muslim Turks), etc.
They did the same to India, totally indifferent to the terrible suffering this entailed ( see the stories of the great Urdu writer Manto)
The purpose of partitioning India was to keep Hindus and Muslims fighting each other and thus ensure that united India does not emerge as a modern industrial giant ( as China has become ) for which it has all the potential, and thus become a strong rival to British industry.
However, Indian reunification is an idea whose time has come. The people of the Indian subcontinent must now see through the British fraud, and reunite, as West and East Germany did in 1990 after 45 years partition.
