Shah Rukh Khan Was Said to Be Approached for Cameo
As per Pinkvilla report of April 2026, the makers of Jailer 2 had contacted Shah Rukh Khan for a five days cameo. Report said that Khan was on the verge of saying yes to the project but later walked away from the same.
The reason given was that he was busy filming for his film King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which has been scheduled for release and published the report as him enjoying his prominence for King, informing the other look away from the film. Bollywood Hungama then released the report with the same details for that specific cameo and eight out of the film.
All of these reports revolve around an image on-screen of Khan’s. They don’t prove that Khan did indeed dub lines, offer narration, or lent his voice to Jailer 2. Pinkvilla
Hrithik Roshan Reportedly Joined the Film Instead
Hindustan Times, citing sources, reported that Hrithik Roshan signed a special appearance in Jailer 2 after Khan’s supposed exit. The report also stated that Roshan’s character would be present at a crucial juncture in the story, though the nature of his appearance was being kept under wraps.
The report came as a bit of a surprise as Roshan had previously acted as a child actor in the 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada where he co-starred with Rajinikanth. His reported reunion with Rajinikanth for this project was also noteworthy.

What Is Confirmed About Jailer 2?
Jailer 2 will see Rajinikanth reprise his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian and with Nelson Dilipkumar. Jailer 2 will have some big names from other film industries too, including Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar among others, as part of this franchise’s love for cross-industry casting.
The film is due to hit the screens on 15 October 2026 in a number of languages including Hindi. NDTV in a report dated 12 October stated that the makers had said that the Hindi version was scheduled to be released along with the other versions.
It could keep making rounds until the time the film hits theatres. As more, at least when the film hits theatres, Shah Rukh Khan lending his voice to the film will have to be reported as speculating until an official statement is made. NDTV
