Today an article written by him has appeared in The Hindu in which he has depicted himself as a true patriot, a bipartisan who is above party politics, particularly when it comes to national security

What does one make out of this rhetoric ?
To understand this one must know something about Tharoor.
As mentioned by N.K. Bhoopesh in his recent article in thewire.in ( given below ) :
” Almost three decades at the UN in various capacities have transformed Shashi Tharoor into a ‘global citizen’. He considers himself unique from the other Indian politicians, whom he regards ‘cattle class ”.
Tharoor is highly egoistic and ambitious, though he has nothing in his head. He pretends to be an ‘intellectual’, though he has no idea how to solve India’s massive socio-economic problems. He has been a Minister in the Central Government, but obviously aims higher.

Probably he imagines himself as a future Prime Minister of India, and for that what better stance than portraying oneself as bipartisan, a nationalist and true patriot, who has arisen above party lines, like former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill who formed a Government of all parties in 1940 when Britain was in great danger from German invasion ?
Tharoor will be leading a delegation to USA and some Latin American countries, to acquaint them about India’s position post Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. But do the US authorities not already know everything ? So what is the point going to USA ? And are the Latin American countries which the delegation will also visit ( Panama, Guyana, Brazil and Columbia ) really relevant ? So for what purpose is so much money being spent on this delegation ? Will its visit not be only ‘aamadam, guftam, barkhaastam’ ( coming, talking, and dispersing ), but zero haasildam ? And of course the delegation will enjoy the delicious caviare and lobsters, and the exquisite wines, in the 5 star hotels where they will stay.
Tharoor said “When national interest is involved, and my services are required, I will not be found wanting ”.
Sure Shashi, the national interest requires you to become a Union Minister again, and become Prime Minister too later. In Shakespeare’s words in Macbeth, you have ‘vaulting ambition’ which will one day ‘overleap itself, and fall on the other side’
