I had a talk on whatsapp a short while back with my dear friend Wajahat Husain Khan, senior advocate, Allahabad High Court, who is a nephew of the great Urdu poet Majrooh Sultanpuri.
Wajahat is 83 years old, and hence 5 years older than me. I have known him since we were lawyers together in the High Court in the 1970s, and talk with each other almost daily on whatsapp.
I asked him whether there is any caste in Islam ? He said no.
Then I asked him what is his caste ? He proudly said he is a Rajput.
I then told him he should go to the sangam, get his ‘shuddhi’ and ‘ghar wapasi’ done by some Panditji, and stop the fraud of calling himself a Muslim.
The same should be done by all so called Muslims in India and Pakistan, because almost all of them are hypocrites who follow the caste system as strictly as Hindus, though Islam recognises no caste.

The highest castes among Muslims are called ashrafs i.e, syed, sheikh, moghul and pathan. These are equivalent to Hindu upper castes. Of these, the highest are the syeds, because they claim to be the direct descendants of the Prophet.
Below the ashrafs are the ajlafs, or intermediate castes, like the Hindu OBCs, e.g. ansari, siddique, qureshi, etc
Lowest are the arzals, like the Hindu dalits, e.g. lalbegi, etc. These were perhaps dalit converts.
These categories may say namaz together and eat together, but when it comes to marriage–toba, toba.

In Banda city there was a Rajput Muslim family, whose ancestors had been Hindus, but who converted to Islam for some reason. One of the girls of that family fell in love with a young Hindu dalit magistrate posted in the city. To marry her, the magistrate converted to Islam.
Two brothers of that girl came to the magistrate, and told him to break off contact with their sister, or they would kill him.
The magistrate protested that he had become a Muslim, so what was the impediment or objection to the marriage now, since Islam recognises no caste.
The brothers said ” Humne apna mazhab badla hai, apni jaat nahin ( We have changed our religion, not our caste ). We will kill you unless you break off contact with our sister ”.
The poor magistrate got so scared that he quickly got himself transferred to another city.
This is the reality of Muslims of India and Pakistan. They are almost all really Hindus ( because they follow the caste system ), though posing to be Muslims.
