The Pakistan army had been hitherto glorified by Pakistani people as the only institution which was keeping Pakistan together, and as a defender of Pakistan at the cost of making great sacrifices by its soldiers.
This reminds one of the reverence of the Tsar by the Russian people, who called the Tsar their father, who took care of his people like a father.
All this changed on Sunday, 22nd January 1905 ( known as Bloody Sunday) when on the Tsar’s order Russian troops fired on an unarmed crowd of protestors making
certain demands, killing over a thousand people.
Thereafter the myth of the Tsar being a father to his people who cared for their welfare was destroyed and replaced by the belief among Russians that he was a killer of his own people when it appeared to him that his throne was endangered.
Similarly, the myth about the Pakistan army being a protector and benefactor of the Pakistani people has been forever dispelled among Pakistanis after the events in Islamabad on 25th November 2024.
On that day Pakistani army troops fired on unarmed protestors who had gathered at D Chowk, Islamabad on the call of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is in Adiala jail since August 2023, killing an undisclosed number of people ( because their bodies have been removed by the soldiers). This is known as the Islamabad massacre.
Now the Pakistan army has been unmasked as a rapacious organization of looters which can kill it’s own people if the occasion requires
The stage seems to have arrived when guerrilla war will soon begin by the Pakistani people against the Pakistani army, as the two are on a collision course
