Political flak The late revelation of the Government Order has raised concerns among opposition leaders who believe that the taxpayers should not have been made to fund this “new” advisor’s administrative capacity in such secrecy. There were also allegations that private business interests managed by Jagadish could impact decision-making in the government.
An earlier appointment for astrologer Vettrivel The controversial announcement follows a Government Order in May for another one of Vijay’s aides, his personal astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel, to take up the post of Officer on Special Duty (Political).
However, due to protests and backlash, the Government was forced to withdraw the GO the following day.
